I know the reason is just a lack of practice. Take dragons, for example. I used to be pretty crappy at them. But since they were an ambition of mine I just kept studying resources and anatomy and now I can pretty much draw them from scratch with no references because they're such a familiar subject.
Humans are completely unfamiliar territory for me in terms of drawing. I've ignored this for years and never been bothered by it, but I realize that I can't just stay in my comfort zone or I'll never develop as an artist.
So...I am going to challenge myself to learn how to draw people. I'm writing this entry on dA so that I'll see it every time I'm on here and won't give up.
This probably isn't very ground-breaking to most people here, but for me it's just one of those goals that I'd like to achieve.
